British Heart Foundation - 'Unfortunate Eric' films

We were delighted to have the opportunity to work with the BHF recording the voices for a series of 5 educational films featuring their character 'Unfortunate Eric'. The films are part of the charities' ELS (Emergency Life Support) campaign aimed at ensuring all school children are taught life skills including CPR as a mandatory part of the National Curriculum. Bombay Sapphire - 'Imagination' films

Dominos TV Ad - The 3rd this year!

Featuring Dragons Den star Levi Roots and his Reggae Reggae source, the new Dominos ad, aptly named 'Reggae Reggae'! arrived on UK and Irish TV screens a few weeks back. This is the third Dominos ad this year that SNK Studios have provided the Audio Post for and the second one to feature our original music composition!

Dominos 'Ole!' - UK TV Ad

Here's a great example of our full range of Audio services working across the one project, on the latest Dominos UK TV ad 'Ole!' Promoting their new 'Spanish Sizzler' pizza.

Directed by Richard Pullar, the film features our bespoke music (including flamenco guitar and all the Spanish trimmings!) and sound design, voice over and mix which were all completed at our new Central London studios for ad agency Big Communications and production company Fresh Films. The end result is a fun, fast paced film... Have a watch of the 20 second edit.

Brand New Studios Open!

WRU In Stadium Promo

Our in-house writers have had a great time over the past few weeks creating music and sound design for the epic WRU 'Shards' animation from Mainframe. The 60 second film has played to packed crowds on the newly installed giant screens and sound system at the Millennium Stadium at the start of each Autumn Series match currently running. It's accompanied by a full broadcast package with our sound design punctuating all the key moments and live match edits.

The original brief was to make sure the audio literally 'shifted the audience in their seats'! We needed to create something disturbing, emotional and dramatic that reflected the violence of rugby, and we hope you agree that our music and sound design goes some way to achieving that.

Dominos 'Lets Do Lunch'

Paul Smith viral films

Over the past few years, SNK have enjoyed a close working relationship with fashion house Paul Smith and their creative agency, Aboud Creative composing original music for the fragrance cinema campaigns 'London' and 'Rose'. So we were delighted to be asked more recently to score music for short films for the Rapha cycling brand, which now have a range of Paul Smith designs, his forthcoming Autumn / Winter Collection film and also a 'making of' campaign film.

Volvo - Subject60 film

Attempting to establish which is the 'naughtiest' city in Europe(!) Volvo held a series of experimental parties and produced the 'Subject60' films showcasing the outcome.

SNK Studios were glad to provide the creative directors at Mainframe with the glitchy, tech style sound design, voice over recording, music edits and final mix for the 2.5 minute 'Subject60 Experiment' film that explains more. Whole Earth Peanut Butter TV Ad

Dizzee Rascal and James Corden Record Unofficial World Cup Song

SNK Studios were delighted to be asked by Simon Cowell's people last week to record all the vocals for Dizzee Rascal and Gavin and Stacey star James Corden's forthcoming unofficial World Cup anthem 'Shout'.

This was one of the more unique sessions we've been involved in! Corden was chanting the Tears For Fears 'Shout' chorus whilst Dizzee rapped 'We need to sort it out, put the Champs down, pull your finger out!'

SNK were very excited about doing their bit to support the England World Cup bid. The team included Dizzee's Ivor Novello award winning Manager/Producer Nick Cage and the track is rumored to be performed on Cowell's own 'Britain's Got Talent' final this Saturday. All proceeds are set to be donated to Great Ormond St. Hospital.

Lloyds Pharmacy UK TV ad

SNK Studios have just finished work on McCann Erickson's new Lloyds Pharmacy TV ad, providing Voice Recording, Sound Design and final broadcast mix. The front section required particular attention to accentuate the stretching, contorting sound of the balloon, building up to shock the viewer when it finally bursts. Unilever Signal 'Torsion' - European TV Ad

Following our work with Lowe Worldwide on 'Superwoman' earlier in the year SNK Music have scored another ad for the toothbrush brand.

The 20 second spot features a fun, energetic breakbeat track and is now running across most of the continent.

Katy Brand's Big Ass Tour : Sound Design & Music

We were excited to make our first move into Theatre recently, creating the Sound Design and original Music Composition for British Comedy Award Winner, Katy Brand and her new (very funny!) 'Big Ass Tour'!

Produced by Mick Perrin for 'Just for Laughs Live' the show incorporates live sketches and 'celebrity' performances with pre-shot video footage and complex on-stage video interaction.

SNK Studos and Music provided spot effects, soundscapes, pre-recorded material, mixes and music for the the show which runs across the UK over the next 2 months. Find out more here.

Calor 'LPGenius' TV Ad

A new animated TV ad for bottled gas company Calor has just gone on UK TV (the first for 10 years) featuring original music composition from SNK Music, with Sound Design and Audio Post from SNK Studios. The spot, released to coinside with Calor's 75th anniversary, was written by Craig Wood and Jason Vinciguerra at Cogent Elliot and directed by Yoav Segal in callaboration with Taylor James, a boutique CG facility company.

Our funky disco-style track along with with considerable Sound Design helps to tell the information rich story and aims to sit naturally alongside the complex fly-around animation... A lovely VO from Stephen Fry finishes off the classy film!

Lowe Worldwide / Lola Madrid's new Signal TV spot started running this month with original score composed by SNK Music. Bridging the gap into the ʻscienceyʼ bit, our track creates a young, 'fresh' ; ) feel for the 30 second Europe wide ad.

Hope for Haiti Now - ‘Stranded’ edit at SNK Studios

Glad to do a bit to help MTV's 'Hope for Haiti Now' appeal, SNK Studios welcomed top engineer Dec Gaffney to Studio 1 to complete the ﬁnishing touches for the release of 'Stranded'. The collaboration featuring Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna will see 100% of the proceeds go towards Partners in Health and is available for individual download or as part of the 'Hope for Haiti Now' beneﬁt album on iTunes.

Alternatively you can donate directly at the campaign website here, where donations are shared between unicef, the Red Cross, Oxfam and other major NGOs.

Royal Navy 'Predator' Music

We've just finished working with WCRS on TV ad ʻPredatorʼ, designed to recruit for the Royal Navy Submariners. SNK Music composed a dark, atmospheric orchestral score before providing all the Sound Design, Audio Post and Dubbing at our very own SNK Studios. A full audio service if you will!

Working with the lovely chaps at MIE we provided the original Sound Design for the start of George Michael's EP 'December Song' video. Gracing your Christmas screens and featured on the X-Factor, the track reached No.14 in the charts and the video has received over 200,00 hits on YouTube.

Company Expansion - Exciting Times!

It's been a manic few weeks with the opening of our new office on Tottenham Court Road just two minutes walk from the main studio. Housing a full ProTools HD3 edit suite, audio work is now even more convenient.

With music production, sound design, voice recording and broadcast mixing available between both West End facilities, we regularly host client, agencies and production companies alike as they increasingly realise the benefits of working closely with SNK throughout their projects.

To coincide with the new office, we're welcoming our new Business Development Manager Sam Dillon to SNK. With a background in studio management and client relations, Sam will be working on a wide variety of projects and is a great addition to the SNK family.
